Hi there,
My name is Leah, and I’m the owner/operator of North Star Dog Camp. This summer, I’m moving my business from Vermont to Minnesota, and I’m looking for private land where I can safely walk my pack.
About Dog Camp:
Dog Camp is a structured off-leash adventure for dogs
Dogs are friendly, calm, and carefully evaluated before joining
North Star is fully insured and backed by 20+ years of experience in dog care
How it works:
Camp is brief — about 2 hours per day, Monday–Friday, on a fixed schedule
Dog waste is picked up and removed immediately
We’re entirely self-sufficient; our goal is that you won’t even know we were there
If there’s a house on the property, we stay as far away as possible to minimize disruption
The ideal spot:
Privately-owned
Within ~35 minutes of downtown Minneapolis (if it’s perfect but a bit farther, I’d still love to chat)
A healthy distance from neighbors and major roads
Well-maintained/plowed driveway, trailhead, or street parking; accessible by car year-round
Minimum ~5 acres if fenced, or ~30 acres if unfenced (bigger is better!)
Water access (lake, pond, or stream) is a huge huge plus, but not required
Over the past three years in Vermont, I’ve been fortunate to partner with neighbors for private land access. These relationships were built on trust, respect, and community: in exchange for land use, I provided pet care and land maintenance, creating partnerships that felt more like collaboration than a typical rental. I come with references and a strong track record of responsible stewardship.
While I deeply value this community-oriented approach, I’m also happy to pay rent or formalize agreements in whatever way works best. I’m excited to bring the same spirit of care, respect, and collaboration to my new neighbors in MN.
